Computer

Our friend Agi is now also in need of a computer, after her daughter's computer for school broke. She is still in need of financial aid as well. If anyone has a spare working computer lying around, or if you are getting a new one, or come across one, and would consider donating it or selling it on discount, please get in contact with me at racdab2819@gmail.com. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and God bless,
Rachel

Basement Painting

A friend of Jeremiah Kingshipp needs a family room in her basement painted. I definitely think this is doable. She lives around State College, so it should be convenient for us to get there. That is all the information I have as of now, but as soon as I found out more and find a date, I'll post it. For now, if you're going to be around for the summer and want to help, contact me at racdab2819@gmail.com. Thanks
In Him,
Rachel

Food Drive

The State College and Bellefonte Post Offices will be collecting non-perishable food items on Saturday, May 10 that will be distributed to five local food banks. Last year they collected 38,927 pounds of food! If you have any excess food items to donate (especially if you are cleaning out apartments or dorms for the summer), please bring them by the CSF office at 208 Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on campus. We'll be collecting food from now up until May 10 and I will take care of taking it to one of the two post offices. Thanks!

Rachel

Update on Wheelchair Ramp for Guy

So we're going to make this happen. Guy needs a wheelchair ramp for his house pretty much immediately, so I would like to get this project underway as soon as possible. A few guys have volunteered to help build it already, but we'll probably need more, so if you can use a hammer at all, we'd love to have you help! We will also need tools and lumber, so if you have any of these lying around that you wouldn't mind donating, please contact me. As soon as I hear back from people who are interested, I will set up a date that works for everyone--hopefully within the next week or two. Again, contact me at racdab2819@gmail.com if you'd like to help. Thanks!
In Him,
Rachel

Financial Aid for Agi

I've recently heard of a rather sad story of a woman named Agi whose husband of 25 years just left her with thousands of dollars debt. She's really been struggling to make car payments, mortgage, legal fees, and just costs of living. I think it would be great if we could help her out with her a couple months' car payments (at the least), as it's been a constant struggle for her to make ends meet. Please consider helping out Agi and contact me at racdab2819@gmail.com
Thanks!

Wheelchair ramp construction for Guy and Wendy

A member of our group knows a man with cancer who's in a wheelchair and is having trouble getting around his house. The family would really like to put a wheelchair ramp in at their house in order to make it more accessible to him. This is a great opportunity to help Guy and his wife Wendy! So, what we'll need is anyone who knows about construction or would be able to help build a ramp. We also need funds to support this project, so even if you're not a handyman, you can still help by donating. If you're interested in helping out Guy and Wendy, please contact me at racdab2819@gmail.com
Thanks!

Phyrst Church's Bartender Chris

For those of you who have attended Phyrst Church in State College, PA, you might have met our bartender, Chris. Recently he has been under some financial strain as a water pump has broken in his car (valued at about $700) and he has been without a car for a few weeks. Chris pulled double shifts throughout a couple of weeks in order to try to pay off the car and was able to manage it, but we would still like to bless him. If you are interested in meeting his need of $700 or contributing to it, contact Rachel at racdab2819@gmail.com

Dale Dyke Benefit Dance and Dinner

First of all, Before you read this post, read the article to the left of this post under Dale Dyke in the Centre Daily Times...Alright, now that you have read the article, the Basic Needs Initiative Network is searching for partners to help provide for some of the needs of the Dyke family. One of their basic needs, at this point, is a van with a hydraulic ramp/lift. To help in this effort, the Dale Dyke Benefit Dance and Dinner has been organized. This is where you come in. The Benefit Dance and Dinner is planned for March 15 at the American Legion Post 893  in Milesburg. The Benefit Dinner will also include a concert, preformed by Hithcock at 9 p.m. all for $5.00 (at the Door). For more information please call 355-0737

Let us all give a shout out to the Penn State Campus, State College, surrounding areas and invite everyone we know to attend this Benefit Dance and Dinner - I will be there!

If you can not attend the Benefit Dance and Dinner you can still partner with the Basic Needs Initiative Network by donating to the Dale Dyke Trust Fund. Donations to raise money for the Dale Dyke family Van and other needs may be sent to:

Dale Dyke Trust
c/o PNC Bank
801 E. Bishop St.
Bellefonte, PA. 16823

As you read in the article, the Dyke family has to travel to Baltimore very often for medical treatment. They make the trip all in one day to save money...does anyone have a connection to a family that would house the Dykes during their stays in Baltimore?

"No one in need because all needs are known."

This is where you would look to see "Posted Needs" in the Basic Needs Initiative Network. You would then respond to me, via jeremiahkingshipp@gmail.com, if you are able to supply the posted need or if you have questions concerning more information about the posted need. May this glorify God! Remember our mission: "No one in need, because all needs are known."
